Why whine when you can wine? (I think I just found my new life motto). There’s nothing better than coming home after a long day and having a good ol’ glass of red or white, especially with great company and delicious food! Stopping by BC Liquor Store is always a treat because there are so many types of wine (cabernet sauvignon, malbec, merlot, pinot noir, shiraz, or all of the above!) to discover. With wine brands from all over the world — from Argentina to Italy to local BC wineries — you’ll never run out of new ones to try while also sticking with your favourites.
I’ll admit that I’ve totally bought a new brand of wine solely because it has a cool name, bottle, or label, but isn’t that all of us? You know what they say: “the truth is in the wine." In fact, April is BC Wine Month, so there's no better time to try that local wine you've been humming and hawing about. According to the Store Manager (and fellow wine enthusiast) at BCL, Five Vineyards by Mission Hill and Red Rooster are terrific (and popular!) BC wine brands to try, particularly the Five Vineyards rosé as Summer (slowly but surely) approaches.
Seriously, I dare anybody to name a more iconic duo than pasta and red wine (I’ll wait). There are tons of other wonderful wine to food pairings depending on what type of wine you like, of course, so you can find your own match made in heaven at Capilano Mall’s Food & Drink stores. I’ve got my eyes on a falafel rice plate from Donair Dude to pair with my signature merlot. Now let’s grab a glass — it’s time to wine and dine in style!
