What is in store for the future of Capilano Mall? Let us fill you in on the latest and greatest!
In 2019, our Thinking Cap community engagement initiatives sparked over 1,000 conversations about the future of the shopping centre. Through these initiatives, North Shore residents provided feedback on draft guiding principles for the redevelopment, including transit-oriented development, sustainable design, a vibrant and innovative neighbourhood centre, and a mix of housing options and choices for both residents and workers. You can review our engagement summary report here: Thinking Cap: A Shared Vision for the Future of Capilano Mall
The pandemic effectively pushed pause on the Thinking Cap engagement process in March 2020. A lot has changed since 2020 (clearly!), and we want to ensure when we return to the public in the future, we are up-to-date on how the present and future needs of the City of North Vancouver and the North Shore have changed in terms of work, housing, shopping, transit, and transportation.
When we are ready to return to the public with an updated vision, we’ll ensure our retail tenants, neighbours, and interested North Shore residents are informed and invited to actively engage.
In the meantime, Capilano Mall continues to proudly serve the North Shore community by offering your everyday this and that (and then some). Our stores and services are looking forward to seeing you soon!
