INCREASE IN RECREATION BUSINESSES AT MALLS POINTS TO FAST-EVOLVING TREND
Shoppers across Canada are beginning to see a trend of elaborate entertainment concepts and recreation centres being launched inside shopping complexes. Chrystal Burns, QuadReal's EVP, Canadian Retail, notes this trend represents “a structural shift in how we are consuming and how we want to see our spaces and places used.”
At QuadReal, our teams are focused on meeting the evolving needs of our communities. Capilano Mall most recently unveiled a large indoor bike park in North Vancouver in partnership with The North Shore Bike Park—said to be the world's first indoor bike park at a mall. This amenity joins recreational facilities BV Shops in Toronto, Cloverdale Mall in Etobicoke and Assembly Park in Vaughan.
Canadian shopping centre owners and managers share the same goal of creating community hubs. Read the full Globe and Mail article, Increase in Recreation Businesses at Malls Points to Fast-Evolving Trend.
