It’s strange to not be able to do the things that we would normally do during this time. But look on the bright side: we get an opportunity to make celebrations like Mother's Day even more special with an at-home twist! Whether it’s baking, cooking, or even preparing cocktails to celebrate a special occasion, we’re learning to do it ourselves, which gives it that personalized feel. With Mother’s Day approaching, here are some ideas on how you can celebrate a mom in your life from the comfort of your home.
Breakfast in bed
Not much of a chef? Don’t worry, breakfast in bed doesn’t need to be fancy. Think yogurt, berries, granola, and sweet morning treats, all accompanied with her fave morning drink: coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or even a mimosa. Go the extra mile with some avocado toast, eggs, and bacon. Visit COBS Bread, Kin’s Farm Market, and Walmart during your bi-weekly grocery trips for all the ingredients you need.
Comfort food
Again, the meal doesn’t have to be profesh. You can keep it simple; we all know it’s the thought that counts! This all depends on your cooking skills and your mom’s preferences, but if in doubt you can’t go wrong with mac n’ cheese. Or you can always pick up or order in her fave meal from Capilano Mall!

At-home salon & spa
Whether we’re changing hair colour or learning how to care for it at home, many of us are experimenting with our hair. Stop at Walmart to find the perfect hair product to compliment the look that mom is going for. They’ve got lots of products to choose from for all kinds of hair and needs. While you're at it, mom needs to relax on her day, so why not treat her to a massage? Bonus points for spa music or putting on her fave Netflix show.
