Summer won’t last forever, which is breaking my heart. In times of heartache, the best medicine is ice cream (am I right or am I right?). And when you have places like Dairy Queen and Purdys Chocolatier around the corner, it’d be silly not to make them your go-to destinations for sweets and treats.
Fun fact: Dairy Queen welcomes a new kind of Blizzard (you know the one, where they can magically flip ice cream upside down) every month. For the month of July, they introduced the Oreo Firework Blizzard, which is ice cream with Oreo cookies and popping candy (YUM)!
Purdys ice cream is also sooooo delicious — how can you go wrong with classic flavours with toppings of your choice? According to Purdys team members, kids absolutely love the bubblegum flavour (I do, too!) while nuttier flavours like pralines and cream, maple walnut, and sea salt caramel are faves among adults. The showstopper is the Ultimate Ice Cream Bar, which is a French vanilla ice cream bar dipped once in creamy white chocolate, dipped twice in decadent dark chocolate, and then enrobed in fresh toasted almonds.
