Let’s be honest: working out — including motivating yourself to work out — can be, well, lots of work! Mixing up your exercise routine with some tech flourishes is a sure-fire way to make your workout more enjoyable. Lucky for us, The Source has tons of awesome gizmos and gadgets to help us out! Check out some fitness tech must-haves below.

WIRELESS HEADPHONES

Say goodbye to old-school headphones . . . take your workout to the next level with wireless ones! Gone are the days of untangling headphone wires (so annoying!) and wires getting in the way of your workout. Wireless headphones also tend to last longer since there are no wires that can bend and cause one of the earphones to die out (the worst!). Many phone models are jumping on the wireless movement and removing the headphone jack altogether, so wireless headphones are basically the future.

ACTIVITY TRACKERS

Need a solid motivator to reach your fitness goals? Measure your workouts and track your daily movement/heart rate with a handy dandy (and stylish!) activity tracker. Track all the basics — like steps, distance, and calories burned — that motivate you to keep moving.

Our favourites: Fitbit Alta HR and Apple Watch Series 3. Fun features: Fitbit can track your sleep and shows your time spent in light, deep, and REM, while Apple Watch automatically syncs your favourite playlists.

PORTABLE SPEAKERS

Whether you are getting your sweat on outside — in the park, in the backyard, or in the pool — or inside on your living room floor, why not add some 360° sound and booming bass to liven up your workout?

ARMBANDS

Nowadays most of us listen to music on the go with our smartphones (RIP MP3 players). For those of us who would rather do literally ANYTHING else than work out without music, phones can be difficult to work(out) with. Exhibit A: sometimes shorts and leggings don’t have pockets, so you’re stuck awkwardly holding your phone while you’re running and jumping all over the place. Even if they do have pockets, your phone protrudes and gets in the way. Armbands are the best since you can take your phone with you during your workouts, no sweat! (Well, sort of).
