In a year as unique as the one we’ve had so far, let’s take a moment to celebrate all of the amazing dads in our lives! My time in quarantine has made me really appreciate my dad and how much I’ve learned from him. And if I’m being honest, I haven’t given him the credit he deserves. So, in honour of my dad, I put together a Father's Day gift guide for the fatherly figure in your life.
BBQs & Picnics
What dad doesn’t love a BBQ? Dads are lucky because the weather is usually perfect for a BBQ or a picnic on Father’s Day! In light of social distancing, you can never go wrong with a BBQ or even a picnic in your backyard. Parks are always a great option, too. You can stop at Walmart to buy the utensils that the BBQ King will need as well as reusable plates, cups, and even cutlery. But before making the trip, check to see if you have enough propane gas for the BBQ. This way, if needed, you can refill your tank at Walmart and avoid an unwanted surprise. Then, stop at Kin’s Farm Market for some delish veggies to throw on the grill and some fruit to enjoy with your meal.
Fashion & Footwear
Whether your dad is a fitness, comfort, or fashion enthusiast, you can stop by The Shoe Company to find a pair of shoes or runners that matches his personal style. If shoes aren't on his “need” list, check out Urban Planet for stylish shirts, shorts, or pants because — let’s face it — you know he won’t buy them for himself. For something more elegant, visit Connection Men’s Wear for a dress shirt, or even a fun tie to show off his personality.

Health & Wellness
BodyCrafters Supplements is a must-go when I’m gift hunting for my dad because he’s a personal trainer (i.e. maintaining a healthy lifestyle is his thing). My dad uses these the most: protein powders, a shaker for his protein mix, protein bars, and a weight-shaped water bottle to hype himself up during workouts.
This & That
Dollar Tree has all kinds of gifts that are perfect for any occasion, including Father’s Day. Personal faves: coffee mugs and glassware with fun or endearing captions. Some dads are more into coffee than others, and then there’s the ones who like something a bit stronger . . . that’s when you head over to BC Liquor Store.

And if you can’t make up your mind or prefer to give him the option to buy whatever he wants, there’s always a Capilano Mall gift card for his everyday this and that.
Cheers to all the awesome dads out there! Happy Father’s Day.
