Capilano Mall Celebrates the Holiday Season with Festive Family Fun and Charitable Partnerships

North Vancouver, B.C- November 23rd 2015Capilano Mall is all set for the holiday season with in-mall activities for the whole family and the announcement of charitable partnerships with The Harvest Project, the North Shore Community Resources Society and the North Shore Christmas Bureau. The Catch the Spirit campaign is back for 2015 and new holiday friend Snappy the Gingerbread Man, is helping kick off the festivities. Santa Claus returns to his Candy Wonderland for family photos daily until December 23rd. Capilano Mall is located at 935 Marine Drive in North Vancouver, BC.

From November 24th to December 18th, watch the Capilano Facebook page for selfies of Snappy the Gingerbread Man at various retail outlets throughout the mall. Identify the store where Snappy took his selfie and enter to win a gift card. Shoppers can also purchase a plush Snappy for $7 at Santa’s Candy Wonderland. Net proceeds from Snappy purchases will go towards The Harvest Project.

Santa’s Candy Wonderland is filled with family activities this holiday season including cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus, ballet performances by students from North Vancouver’s Pro Arts Centre, visits with Nedward the Elf and Santa’s Snow Princesses and the Angels on High Carollers. A full schedule of events is available at capilanomall.com

“Each year Capilano Mall strives to celebrate families and the community through the mall’s various holiday activities, making it my favourite time of year,” said Shera Watson, Property Manager at Capilano Mall.

Starting on November 21st, Capilano Mall is encouraging shoppers to donate new unwrapped toys to the North Shore Christmas Bureau. Donation bins can be found throughout the mall. The gift wrap centre opens on December 4th and all minimum donations collected will go towards the North Shore Community Resources children and family programs. This year, Capilano Mall is also raising funds for local charity The Harvest Project through the Catch the Spirit campaign. Capilano Mall will donate $.50 to The Harvest Project for every shopper who signs up for Capilano Mall’s eClub.

“We are honoured to be working with three great organizations this year,” said Watson. “At Capilano Mall we believe the holidays are a time to give back to the community. It’s the giving back that makes the season so special for us.”

Whether you’re looking to give back, get your annual photo taken with Santa or seeking out some holiday entertainment, Capilano Mall has your family covered this season.

Holiday hours begin on November 30th.
